For decades we have equipped generations seeking adventure with handsewn rugged soled boat shoes. While those who wear them may change, the quality and craftsmanship never will.
After the launch of our Original Waterproof Yellow Boots, we knew we could do more. To keep our factories working, in 1978 we took premium leathers, used hand-stitching, and crafted 3-eyelet boat shoe uppers that we combined with our rugged boot lugs.

Men’s 3-Eye Lug Handsewn Boat Shoe

In 1978 we took premium leathers, used hand-stitching, and crafted 3-eyelet boat shoe uppers that we combined with our rugged boot lugs. Our 3-Eye Lug Handsewn was born. Today we make them using Better Leather that only comes from tanneries rated silver or higher for their environmental practices.

Sourced from a tannery rated Gold or Silver by the Leather Working Group, a multi-stakeholder auditing group, for its water, energy, and waste management practices.

Women’s Noreen 3-Eye Lug Handsewns

The “Noreen” is our original handsewn boat shoe for women.
They feature our famous lugged boot soles and a premium leather boat shoe upper. As part of our vision for a greener future, today we make our boat shoes with Better Leather. This leather is sourced from tanneries rated silver or gold by the Leather Working Group, a third-party auditor, based on water, energy and waste management practices.

2022 introduces the icon re-imagined — using our forward thinking technology and sustainable techniques to inspire another generation of Boat Shoe wearers.

Men’s GreenStride™ TBL® Originals Ultra EK+ Moc-Toe Boat Shoes

We bring one of our most comfortable and eco-conscious experiences ever to boat shoes. Naturally comfortable GreenStride™ soles are made of 75% renewable sugar cane and rubber from trees. The EVA-blend foam midsole adds on more cushiony comfort. As part of our Earthkeepers® Edition, this style is made of Regenerative Leather. This leather comes from farms whose practices help pull carbon from the air and store it in the soil where it actually does some good.

Sourced from farms that use regenerative agricultural practices. This technique gives land a rest so it can absorb carbon, retain water and restore biodiversity to the pastures where the cattle graze.

Greenstride™ innovation provides one of the most eco-conscious and comfortable experiences we’ve ever invented. Comfort in most shoes is delivered through a soft foam material called EVA which is typically made from petroleum-based ingredients.

We’ve replaced 75% of the petroleum with ingredients grown in nature: sugar cane and rubber sourced from sustainably managed forests. GreenStride™ soles increase our use of renewable materials, helping lessen our footprint.

JUAN VELOZ

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Juan Veloz is a self-taught photographer whose bold, authentic approach is closely tied to his Dominican heritage. In fact, Veloz became known for photographs capturing the authentic identity and personality of his subjects — initially people from his local community. Since those early days in New York, Veloz has moved to LA and collaborated with some of the most prominent names in fashion, music and arts: from Vogue to Dior, Wonderland to Nike. In his work, Veloz is committed to equality, representing the voices and narratives that are often missing in contemporary media landscape. It is this commitment that shapes Veloz’s visual language, where honesty, cultural identity and authenticity take centre stage.

You're not really from NY

Kealamakia Naihe

Kealamakia Naihe is a Hawaiian-born surfer, model and artist, currently living in Los Angeles. Coming from a family whose lineage can be traced to the Kingdom of Hawaii, Naihe’s identity is deeply tied to the island’s heritage and its nature. A professional career in surfing was interrupted by an injury at 19, which led him to re-evaluate his relationship to the sport. Embracing a life outside of competition, Naihe enjoys surfing with its connection to the natural environment. He has, unsurprisingly, become an environmental advocate, using his voice to raise awareness about ocean pollution. While Naihe has also built a prolific career in fashion and journalism, it is this deep commitment to environmental advocacy that sets him apart from his peers on the contemporary cultural landscape.
